Obituary for Ron Moran

Ron  Moran
Moran, Joseph Ronald James (Ron) a.k.a. "Hammer" - With his daughters by his side at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas, March 18, 2014 in his 83rd year. Born in Uxbridge January 9, 1932, he grew up in Whitby & lived in Oshawa most of his life. Survived by daughters Karen Andrews (Mike) & fur-child Hobbes of St. Catharines & Gail Moran (Ian Bigham) of St. Williams, sister Ruth Moran of Mount Albert; many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces & nephews. Predeceased by parents Wilfred Moran (1962) & Georgina (Kennedy) (1993), sister Joyce Moran (1995), uncle Gord Bryan (2013) and his wife aunt Betty (Kennedy) (1997). Ron worked for many years at Parkhill & Yanch Law Office starting when he was in high school & eventually worked on his own at the Registry Office. He was a member of St. Gregory's Church, St. Joseph's Church as well as Immaculate Conception Church (Port Perry). He enjoyed taking long walks in Oshawa and playing pool at Le Scratch and The Village Pump. Later in his life he lived with his daughters & then at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas. Heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care he received there. Many thanks also to WeCare staff who enriched his life. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa on Sunday March 23, 2014 from 7 – 9 pm & Monday March 24, 2014 from 9 – 11 am. A funeral service will take place in the Chapel on Monday March 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. ,followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Uxbridge. In lieu of flowers donations to the The Canadian Celiac Association or Wentworth Lodge, Dundas would be appreciated by the family, and may be made, along with condolences, by visiting www.armstrongfuneralhome.net.
