– Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday August 23, 2014 at the age of 79. Pre-deceased by her first husband, Bronislaw. Beloved wife of Sebastiano. Dear mother of Teresa (Mike), Peter, Christine (Rick), Richard and Edward. Stepmother to Mike (Uliana), Connie (Joe) and Teresa. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew, Alex and Ryan and step-grandchildren Amanda, Stephen, Lorena, Daniel, Bradley and Monica and great step-grandchildren. Irena leaves behind her sister Mary and many relatives in Poland. Visitation will be at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Tuesday August 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, 411 Olive Street in Oshawa on Wednesday August 27th at 10am. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery in Whitby. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made Hospital for Sick Children or Heart & Stroke would be appreciated.
