Born December 29th, 1936 in Toronto, Ontario. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 13th, 2014 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Predeceased by his wife Colleen Anne (nee McCormick). Survived by his children; Stephen, Anne, Donald, Kathleen, Robert, and Amy, and his sister Shalagh. Proud grandfather of Shawn, Lise, Brendan, Natalie, Nicholas and Candice. Donald will also be greatly missed by his daughter-in-laws; Linda and Anita, son-in-law Dave (Anne), and half-brother Charles (Nancy).
Don served in the Military from 1956-1978, retiring as a Sergeant in the Military Police. He continued his career in security with Ontario Power Generation and the Oshawa Centre. Although his passing came quickly, he is now with our Mom which is where he wanted to be, taking long walks together like she always wanted.
A Memorial Service will take place at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Thursday December 18th at 1pm. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service time starting at 12pm. Many thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses who assisted our Dad. Especially nurses Patty and Angela, and Dr. Sridhar and Dr. Tan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeridge Health Foundation would be appreciated.
