KORTEKAAS, Johanna (Aunny)
In her 95th year, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Hillsdale Estates (Fairview Lodge) in Oshawa.
Pre-deceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Jacobus Kortekaas. Devoted and loving mother of Ada (Ben Kortekaas), Johanna (Ron Mitchell), Antonia (William Wiggers), Kristine (Ian Wilson), Elisabeth (Carl Godfrey), Henry (Katie), Mary (Les Neville), pre-deceased by her daughter Yvonne and son-in-law Neal Hamilton, James (Ewa), David and Heather. Youthful and fun-loving Grandma to Michael, Raymond, Trevor, Angela, Jim, Brian, Craig, Edward, Anthony, Richard, Kevin, Lisa, Jason, Kevin, Maureen (deceased), Julie, Danny, Bradley, Jennifer, Andrew, Ashley and Alysha. Loving Great Grandmother of Josh, Christopher, Tyler, Hailey, Amber, Greg, Aaron, Brittany, Alex, Tianna, Zander, Lyric, Isabella, Jack, Jacob, Cierra, Kylie, Kirstin, Alex, Jake, Addam, Hope, Abbie-Gail, Penny, Augustus, Ben, Trent, Riley, Lilly, and Kain. Great Great Grandmother to Jonah and Jaxon.
Johanna will also be dearly missed by her sister Williamina Vyfschoft and her extended family in Canada and in Holland and her many dear friends.
A special “Thank-You” to the Staff of Fairview Lodge (Hillsdale Estates) for their wonderful and loving care. They looked after Johanna as if she was their mother and it was so appreciated by her family
Resting at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East (905)433-4711, Visitation on Friday, February 6th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Services will be held at St. Gregory’s Church, 214 Simcoe St. N. in Oshawa on Saturday, February 7th at 12.30 p.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 155 Taunton Road E., Whitby. Reception to follow at St. Gregory’s Hall beside the church. Donations gratefully accepted to Heart and Stroke Association.
