Shirley passed away very suddenly on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 84, with her loving family at her side. She retired from Eaton’s after 35 years of service. Loving wife of the late Gerald Hill. Loving mother of Sandra Pitre (Roger), Larry Hill (Anne), and Shelley Hill (Kevin). Loving grandmother of Alana Robson (Mike), Jeremy Pitre (Laura), Craig Hill (Heather), Kristin de Montbrun (Chris), Roger Pitre (Bobbi Jo). Great-grandmother of Austin and Kylie Robson, Benjamin and Kendal Pitre, Alyssa, Tiffany, Tianna Pitre and Kara and Ryan de Montbrun. Daughter of the late Reginald and Rosina Ellis. Loving sister of Barbara Chapman (Doug), Harold Ellis, Margaret Henderson, Robert Ellis (Diane). Predeceased by her sister in law June Ellis and her brother in law Gary Henderson. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Shirley was very active in any role that she took on, she was the Treasurer of Glen Stewart Park for 50 years, member of the Woman’s Auxiliary #27, mall walker and member of Centennial Albert United Church. Resting at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King Street E Oshawa) visitation will take place on Thursday August 10 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will take place in our chapel on Friday, August 11 at 11am. Interment to follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Centennial Albert United Church Memorial Fund or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
