Jean-Luc Joseph Aime Grenier
Jean-Luc Grenier aka Luc de Chevigny
May 14th 1954 – October 8th 2017
In loving memory of Luc who passed away at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa on Sunday October 8th. He was born in Sudbury and relocated often for work in his life, to finally making his home in Oshawa. Luc was known in the roofing industry and had a few companies in his lifetime. He was the proprietor of Albion Roofing in Ottawa for a number of years then he returned home to Sudbury and continued his business locally.
Luc was a strong individual and chose to follow the path where his life would take him. Predeceased by father Aime de Chevigny, loving mother Lea Grenier, brothers Claude de Chevigny and Gilles-Aime de Chevigny and cherished sister, Lise de Chevigny.
He leaves behind a daughter Angelle de Chevigny (fiancé Dave) grandchildren Andrew, Bella and Kiara (Kiki) of Winnipeg and son Richard (wife Eva) grandchildren Mia and Max of Winnipeg. Beloved brother of Yvon of Timmins, Guy (friend Lise) of Noelville, Dan (wife Joanne) of Webbwood, Nicole de Chevigny-Vickers (husband Steve) of Windsor, Michel Juteau (wife Madeleine) of Mount Hope, Denise Grenier of Val Caron, Andre (wife Jennifer) of Sudbury and Réné Grenier (wife Jennifer) of Petawawa.
He will be missed by all his many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed and always be remembered by his dear friend Brenda Brandon of Sudbury.
The family would like to thank our brother Guy for representing the family with arrangements during this difficult time. We also would like to thank and recognize our brother Mike for stepping up in the moment of need and to be at the hospital and visiting Luc. Thank you to our brothers, Réné and Guy, niece Chantal de Chevigny and friend Lise for travelling great distances to spend valuable time with him. Thank you to André for keeping everyone informed by a group family site by administering and updating information as soon as it became available.
The family want to thank the amazing staff at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa for their devotion and attentive care they gave Luc. We would like to thank Dr. Graham and Dr. Chan for identifying and providing the proper treatment that Luc required and also to Dr. Ngo in Palliative Care for sharing her knowledge with Luc’s ongoing and rapidly changing status and in keeping our family well informed.
For the compassionate care given by the nursing staff on the C-6 floor and also to the Palliative Care nurses, for having Luc’s best interest at heart and making his life as comfortable as humanly possible. We thank you immensely.
To Denise Cummings, hospital social worker, for her professionalism and care, which went above and beyond what was called for, and you will always be in our hearts.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Anyone interested may join the family on Saturday October 14th, after 1pm, and Celebration of Life will commence at 2pm. Reverend Shelley Kennedy will be presiding and followed up with anyone that would like to share a few words.
