A memorial service will take place at a later date. If so desired, donations in memory of Ross to the Diabetes Association or to Autism Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Ross left Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in 1951 for Oshawa, Ontario in search of a new future. After other jobs, he worked for General Motors of Canada on maintenance and retired at the age of 60. Ross and Harriet loved to travel and spent winters in Florida for many years. Ross was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church working to build a camp ground in Burleigh Falls and keeping the Church in good repair. He was quite industrious at home too, even building an in ground swimming pool with the help of his family, as well as an outdoor barbeque which was well used by family and friends. They always enjoyed returning to their roots in Nova Scotia for a vacation with family. The Brazil Lake cottages were full of laughter and card playing, everyone competing to tell the best story. When visiting his sister’s cottage near Perth, Ross would often find a project to work on. His children learned many skills from their father even though they would rather have been off playing.
Ross lived a full life and now at 105 he is at peace with his Lord.
In my Father’s house there are many rooms; if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. (John 14,2)
