EWELL, Derek Raymond
After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, papa, and friend. Derek passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday December 5, 2014. Derek will always be remembered for his love of sports, playing & umpiring baseball, and being on many curling teams. Loving husband for 30 years of Beverly Ewell. Cherished father of Krista Lowell (Jim). Very proud papa of Trenton Lowell (the sunshine of his life). Derek will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-laws; Pauline MacLean (late Winford MacLean), and Jeanette Fox (late Lesley Fox), his brother-in-laws; Brent Fox-MacLean (Andrea), and Don Walton (late Karla Walton), and his nephew; Scott Fox-MacLean. Predeceased by his parents Maurice & Doris Ewell. Derek will be truly missed by all who knew him, and for his true joy and happiness for life, laughter, family, and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the exceptional care and support from family and friends, as well as the wonderful nurses, PSW’s and respite care workers. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa, (905) 433-4711 for visitation on Tuesday December 9th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm.
