Condolences

Condolence From: Lise Watson
Condolence: I bought a daffodil today in support of Cancer Research and thought of Gabriela, as I often do. Hard to believe it has been a year. You are deeply missed by so many of us, dear Gabriela.

Condolence From: Margaret Haden-Pawlowski
Condolence: Remembering Gabriela, she loved the arts, the ballet, many types of music, books of course, textiles, hand made items. She loved meeting the craftspeople or artists that created things. She came to visit each summer and some autumns and we always did a studio tour. She purchased something from many of them. She always came up to go to the Pow Wow at Golden Lake. She danced freely and took in the culture and the beauty and traditions. Gabriela picked up some brochures on Ghost Towns in our area and we found a few to visit each year. Foymount, Newfoundout, Brudenell, Balaclava were some of them. We even made a trip out to see the Deifenbunker in Carp. Abandoned buildings, log homes found on deserted roads were fun to explore. We often had to turn around because the road disappeared beneath the wheels of the car. Frequent walks with a certain black and white puppy, boat rides, always in for an adventure. The Saturday market in Combermere was always a highlight as artisans came there too. Each visit would not have been the same without visiting the shop, "Grumblin Granny's".
It was always a ladies trip out, Mum, Gab, me and Danuta (when she could make it). I'm so glad we had a chance to
share these adventures.

Condolence: We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Gabriela, our friend and co-worker at the Toronto Public Library. Gabriela is remembered for her tireless advocacy on behalf of others, both as a long-serving union steward and as the co-chair of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. Our deepest condolences to her friends, family and colleagues from the Toronto Public Library Workers Union.

Condolence From: Virginia Brooks
Condolence: My heartfelt condolences to the family of the wonderful Gabriella.
I worked with Gabriela as a volunteer with Music Africa for years. We shared a love of African music and worked closely on the music in the schools project. She was a tireless worker for the cause of promoting African music and could always be found at the Music Africa table at Afrofest for the weekend. We also shared a love of little dogs and she had a particular fondness for my old Bailey. I know how caring she was as well with her mom and those who were in need. Gabriela never complained about her own mobility issues or her diagnosis of cancer. Her quiet demeanour and strength were an inspiration to those fortunate to know her. Good journey my friend to the beat of the African drum.

Condolence From: M.E.
Condolence: Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear loved one . Are we not truly blessed with the hope our Creator has given us of seeing our loved ones again. God's loving comfort from the scriptures brings us much relief and confidence in the blessings of His New Kingdom. At Revelation 21:4, John 5:28, and Isaiah 35:5,6 He promises to end death and sickness and to resurrect our dead loved ones. Soon he will wipe out every tear from our eyes so we can live in peace and happiness with those we love in his promised New Kingdom here on earth. Soon we will have no reason to grieve anymore. My hope is that you can take comfort in these words from God's word and that it will also comfort you when you think of your loved one.
