Wasik, Walter – Passed away peacefully at Ivan Franko Home in Etobicoke on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Mary for over 60 years. Dear brother of the late Anna Drohobycky. Survived by his brother in law Omelan, sister in law Natalie Zadorozny. He will be extremely missed by the Drohobycky and the Kulyasa families, and extended family and friends. Walter was a distinguished gentleman who was well known and respected in the Ukrainian community as well as the global film community. He was instrumental in bringing the film and motion picture industry to Canada. May his memory be eternal. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Sunday April 17th from 6 – 8 pm. Pananchyda will be held on Sunday at 7 pm. Divine Liturgy of Christian burial will be held at St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday April 18, 2016 at 11 am. Interment St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery.
