Obituary for Melissa Page

Melissa Page
Melissa Ann Page (Mel)
Melissa left us suddenly on September 9th, 2016 at 10 pm while working alongside of her common law husband Cory Taylor doing what she loved, helping people in their time of need, whether it was a stranded motorist to a devastating accident. Melissa was working as a tow truck driver/operator on the 401 when she stopped to assist a stranded motorist. Melissa fell through an unclosed gap between the barriers separating the collectors and express lanes on the bridge between yonge and avenue road plummeting to her death over a hundred feet down to the ground. Melissa leaves behind father Ken Page, mother Karen Page, grandfather Cecil White, beloved brother Richard and wife Tasha and niece Bailey Page, as well as common law husband Cory Taylor and furry son Cohen, her loved boston terrier, and her extended family, friends, and colleagues. Melissa will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and her extended family in the tow truck industry. Melissa was a woman who excelled at life, was open hearted always quick to help others, and was seldom seen without her warm smile. Although Melissa had only been working this occupation for three years, she was well known for her amazing work ethic, going above and beyond for anyone she helped, or was in need of a hand. A special thanks to all that helped her along the way in becoming the best she could possibly be at everything she did in life. Melissa always enjoyed the outdoors, snowboarding, camping, etc, especially during the six years she spent in Alberta with all the wonderful people she met out there, and friends she made every step along the way. Melissa’s huge smile and big brown eyes full of life will forever be in our hearts, and all of us thank you Melissa for everything you have brought to our lives just by knowing you, spending your time with all of us, and thank you for always being the best friend/loved one that anyone could ever have. You are missed more every second. Love always family, and friends. Melissa is gone in body but her spirit and soul will live on in all of us forever!
Anyone who would like to come and pay last respects as well as celebrate Mel and her life is welcome to come and share their memories, as well as support family and friends. Melissa is resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King Street East, Oshawa) on Thursday September 15th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will held on Friday September 16th at the funeral home at 1:30pm.
If family and friends wish to do so, they may send flowers or make a donation to a charity of choice in memory of Mel.
