Jermakowicz-Szewczyk, Regina: Devoted Mother / Grandmother / Sister & Loving Wife.

Passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017 at Queensway Carlton Hospital in Nepean, Ontario, Canada, in her 83rd year, with her daughter by her side.

Born in Eastern Europe (now part of Belarus), migrated to Canada eventually after World War 2, settled for many years in the city of Oshawa, Ontario within the Polish-Canadian Community.

Married to Stanislaw Jermakowicz for 43 years (deceased 1998), followed by a marriage to Eugene Szewczyk for 7 years (deceased 2011).

Dearest mother to Edward Jermakowicz (& Svetlana), Helen Toczko (& Michael), and Richard Jermakowicz (& Gina). Loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Victoria, Philip, & Christine; Joshua & Jessica; Tyler.

Loving sister to Leonard and Lina (of Michigan); predeceased by her parents Adolf & Helen Barz (of Michigan) and sister Galina (of Belarus). Aunt to many nieces and nephews in Canada, the US, and Eastern Europe.

Regina was a kind, compassionate, and giving person in all that she did. Member at St Hedwig’s Church (Oshawa) for many years, and prayerful & caring with everyone she came in contact with throughout her life. She lived life with a great faith, and died living it right to the last moment. Her soft-spoken way and graceful manner toward whatever challenges life may have given her will not be forgotten. The care she extended to others during her lifetime will be remembered by all who knew her. Full of love, full of hope, and full of faith, she always sought to see the good in all and all that is good. May her gentle, humble soul find peace and joy in a new and eternal life, surrounded by the greatest love of all.

Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday, January 4th from 6-9 pm at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (http://armstrongfuneralhome.net/) (124 King St. E., Oshawa, ON), with a prayer service to take place at 8 pm. Funeral mass to take place on Thursday, January 5th at 11 am at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, 411 Olive Ave, Oshawa, ON. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
